Summer of Tech is committed to creating a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for learning, sharing, and professional networking.
We welcome diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and skills, and we strive to remove barriers to participation and to help everyone feel welcome.
Code of Conduct
All registered students and employers of the Summer of Tech Programmes, bootcamp presenters and mentors, event attendees, partners, employees and volunteers must agree with the following code of conduct. We invite you to help us make Summer of Tech a place that is welcoming and respectful to all participants, regardless of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, physical appearance, national origin, ethnicity, or religion.
Examples of harassment include offensive comments, verbal threats or demands, sexualised images in public spaces, intimidation, stalking, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of sessions or events, and unwelcome physical contact or sexual attention.
We expect all participants, attendees, speakers, partners, and volunteers to follow the Code of Conduct during online and real-life Summer of Tech events. This includes related online communities and social media.
Participants asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately. Summer of Tech participants violating this Code of Conduct may be removed from the programme without a refund, and/or banned from future events and programmes, at the discretion of Summer of Tech.
If you experience any harassment or are made to feel unwelcome, please bring any concerns to the immediate attention of the event staff, or contact our CEO.
We also ask students to be respectful of volunteers’ time, by managing their attendance. If you RSVP yes to a bootcamp and don’t show up, or you unregister within a few hours, that will show on your profile. It’s unprofessional to simply not turn up. We know life happens, so get in touch with the team if something unforeseen happens and unregister as soon as you can.
Accessibility
We endeavour to make our event venues wheelchair accessible, and will support accessibility requirements for all attendees. Space is always available as a quiet area for attendees who need a calm space to step out. If you have needs or concerns around participation, please let us know and we will make every effort to help. More details about accessible and inclusive events is available here.
