Bootcamp Highlights - Building a Profession Network

Social media apps like Twitter, LinkedIn, or Facebook aren't professional networks, it's our connections with people on those apps. We want to focus on building these relationships, not just broadcasting information on a one sided conversation. We start good relationships by interacting with clear value for both members, and you can define this value by starting with these three questions:

  • Who are you?
  • What are you doing?
  • What's in it for me?

Answer these questions before you start your conversation so you're ready always ready to connect, and be sure to add why the response pertains to this conversation. This why leads to interesting conversations, so don't be afraid to show some vulnerability. Remember to keep it light and fun, networking is a fun process!
